KHIZ, digital (Channel 44), virtual channel 64, is an independent television station licensed to Barstow, California, USA, but with studios in Victorville, located between Barstow and San Bernardino. KHIZ airs programming from America One, making it the highest-rated full-power America One affiliate.

KHIZ also airs news, home & gardening, sports and shopping programming. Its local weekday morning news program, "Inland Empire Live", [1] is produced from the facilities of WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, and is distributed to KHIZ via satellite transmission. [2]

KHIZ is owned by Multicultural Broadcasting, which purchased Sunbelt Television, Inc. in 2007.[3] KHIZ now airs multicultural programming every night from 7 pm to 10 pm. The lineup includes a show in Cantonese.

KHIZ originally began broadcasting in 1987 as KVVT, the only ABC affiliate in the Mojave Desert region to provide local news programs. In 1995, KHIZ became a charter UPN affiliate. In the mid-2000s, the TV station changed its format and service area to be transmitted in both the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and the San Bernardino-Riverside Metropolitan Area regions.

Conversion to all digital

On February 17, 2009, KHIZ began broadcasting digital only on UHF channel 44, and discontinued analog transmissions on UHF channel 64, however, through the use of PSIP, digital tuners will still receive KHIZ on 64.
