Experimental calls without K/W prefixes

These call letters were assigned in the early days of broadcasting, when broadcasts were considered experimental services. The same type of call was also assigned to amateur radio operators. In later years, similar calls were issued with the standard K and W prefixes.

Calls using A prefixes

These were issued only to United States Government stations, mainly military. Most such stations were not intended as broadcasters to the general public, but this section lists stations which might have been exceptions to that rule.
