The station developed from amateur stations D5 (prior to 1911, call sign self-assigned) and 8AJT (1912-1915) operated by Shuler Doron. In March 1915, Shuler Doron and his brother Joseph were issued a license for a special amateur station, with the call sign 8ZU, under the name of the Doron Brothers Electric Company.
Doron Brothers Electric Company, 329 N. C St., Hamilton, Ohio, was manufacturer of wireless sets, keys, and other devices, some under a Marconi patent.
